Fort Valley Wireless is a state-of-the-art high-speed wireless broadband network that’s one of only a handful of its kind in the state of Georgia.  Previous technology required that the communicating parties have a “visual link.”  In other words, they had to “see” each other.

This “line of sight” technology was very effective for point-to-point communications where there were few obstructions, but with the pecan, oak, and pine trees of South Georgia, non-line of sight technology simply did not work effectively.

With our new wireless system we can transmit through trees and buildings up to two miles or so and up to five miles if the foliage is very light.  The new network provides both individuals and business broadband access at speeds up to 1.9 Mbps and beyond.  That’s over 50 times the throughput speed of dial-up modems.  And what’s better, the price starts at only $5 more a month than dial-up.  And no telephone line is required.  And it’s "ON" all the time!
